In an era where sharing reels with friends and chatting with AI bots has become a method of socialization equal to face-to-face communication with humans, young people have become divided and isolated by their screens. St. Mike's Village aims to bring down this barrier created by our deeply individualistic and consumerist society. Our goal is to create a safe space for students to have open, honest, and engaging conversations about the role in which technology plays within the conversation surrounding community and sustainability. Instead of rejecting the digital environment that divides us, we want to spark friendly debate and learn about how this invention impacts our environment. Just like the small villages that depend on each other to grow and to heal, St. Mike’s Village will be a place for coexistence, nurturing, and healing, on an individual, communal, and environmental level.
